Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20 1964) was an American politician, attorney and vice president of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female to be elected vice president and is also the highest-ranking female officer in the history of America. As a member the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born and was raised in Oakland, California. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to her move to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010, she was elected Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator who fought for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The sharp questions she asked Trump officials in Senate hearings has earned her national attention, including the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
