Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born August 19, 1965 is an American actress. Her role as the main character on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most famous. Sedgwick was honored with a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The show ended on the 13th, 2012 after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007), and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald who is an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English origin. Sedgwick has publicly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she takes part in Passover seders.
